Three Ways To Upgrade Your Home Before Selling

Tip #1: Paint your Interior and Exterior

Last year at this time, we were researching painters. We were getting ready to place our house on the market and our walls needed a refresh after eight years of the original flat builders paint covering the walls. As much as I love using color, I knew we needed to neutralize the paint color back to a nice gray color.

This time of year is a great time to paint your interior and prepare for the spring market. Some great neutral colors to consider this year are: Sunbleached (SW 9895); Bosc Pear (SW 6390); Malabar (SW 9110); White Snow (SW 9541)

Tip #2: Change Out Your Lighting

Did you know your light fixtures are the jewels of your home? If you still have light fixtures that are 15+ years old, this is a great time to switch them out. There are plenty of lighting options that are affordable, update the look of your space, and will bring more light into your room. Light fixtures use LED bulbs and are more energy efficiant than the traditional incandescent bulbs.

Tip #3: Does Your Flooring look worn?

Do your wood floors or carpet look worn and tired? Some options to consider:

If you have wood floors, the flooring can be sanded and re-stained.

There are many carpet options if you need to replace your worn and dated carpeting. Trends for this year involve, rich colors, durable fibers, and warm neutral colors.

LVP (Luxury Vinyl Plank) Continues to be a popular choice for people who like the look of wood, and pay a lower price than what you would pay for real wood.

Tile is also a timeless choice for bathrooms, utility roons, and outdoor spaces.
